(At least a Step 7 in the Oregon Registry Online recommended) Graduated High School or GED At least ONE YEAR in a Certified Childcare Center, as well as at least ONE YEAR experience with Kindergartners through 5th graders.

) Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of children in care.
Supervise and manage ratios within the classroom.
(Know how many children you have within your care AT ALL TIMES.
) Maintain a safe and clean classroom (i.
e.
, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, dishes, taking out trash) along with other center cleaning responsibilities.
Complete the State of Oregon's yearly requirements of 'continuing education hours' for Early Childhood Educators.
Complete daily routines within the classroom (i.
e.
, arrival/pick up, small/large group times, hand washing/hygiene, clean up times, etc.
) Implement classroom curriculum as written.
Supplement other activities based on the interests of the children.
Planning and teaching activities.
Gentle instruction of children daily.
Keep a safe environment for all children in care.
Reflect a nurturing, loving/caring attitude towards children & families Reflect an attitude that promotes motivation, initiative and enthusiasm for the children and other staff members Comprehend and complete oral and written instructions prepared for the day.
Maintains a nurturing environment with active learning, fun play and work with students to reinforce learning objectives.
Care for and teach students of various backgrounds and various developmental needs.
Knowledge and flexibility in the ability to work with ages 6 weeks to 4 years old, (i.
e.
, completing teacher's daily breaks while school aged children are in school.
) Exercise good independent judgment in the best interest of the children within a variety of situations, including emergencies.
Implement the center's beliefs and values, including discipline approaches.
Communicates well with other teachers, assistants and parents.
Learn and implement preschool policies and procedures including state and federal mandates.
Maintain confidentiality.
Able to stand for long periods of time (at least 75% of shift); able to lift up to 40+pds; able to kneel & climb.
Committed and consistently reliable.
