Vehicle Description 1973 Volkswagen Type 2 Pop Top Camper Van Bus.
Purchased in 1993, I am her 2nd owner.
Clean Title.
She was my daily driver for 8 years and then was garage stored for the next 17 years after I moved cross-country for family.
Before returning to Oregon in the Summer of 2019 (she was trailered for the ride back to OR), the entire vehicle got a thorough bumper to bumper inspection by a VW mechanic.
I gave him the go ahead & she had the most extensive mechanical work up since she rolled off the assembly line then driven only for fun occasions since.
Buy her & drive her home! Gauges and lights work.
I have receipts for nearly all the new parts & work I've had done on this van since I've owned it, highlights below.
My priority was always the mechanics, yes, she could use an owner who will take on making her pretty as she deserves to be.
After several thousand dollars of repairs, why am I selling my baby? I love this van, but I realize now it is finally time to let someone else love her as I have.
Repair/Replacement Highlights since I've owned it:
-Major 2019 repairs performed by VW specialists Buggy Works Indianapolis, IN -Complete motor rebuild in June 2001 by Rick Elverud in Oregon, then only driven a few hundred miles just before going into storage after trailered to Indiana.
This spring the compression was tested by Buggy Works (2019) & showed Engine Compression:

130 all check out good prior to the mechanical restoration done May of 2019 by them.

There is ample room in front of the bed to stand up while camping.
Sorry, the original camp interior was taken out before I owned it.
I do have the original pop-top cot canvas, but chose to keep it stored instead of on the cot.
-I have various parts that I've collected/held on to that go to the new owner, please see the list & photos of the parts for yourself as I can't list each one.
I will give the complete mechanical history I've kept, too for reference if you want them.
This VW was only worked on by VW specialists since I've owned it.
-Miles on this van:
Odometer has always worked.
I still drive it every couple weeks to keep it in good shape.
My mechanic's records over the years line up with what you see +100,000 for the only roll-over prior to my purchase in 1993 according to the only other owner & his mechanic (classic car odometer only had 5 digits) at just over 145,000 & today it is just under 190,000 original miles & the miles driven since the major 2019 mechanical restoration is approx.
